FL January 2001 - Hawk's Cay Resort visit Florida Keys Duck Key, Florida, USA.  Last year Dan had a swimming lesson with Flipper. The northern temperatures were frightful....but it was sunny in the Florida Keys! Our winter weekend vacation to get away from the ice and snow helped us reacquaint ourselves with sun and sand. 
In The Heart Of The Florida Keys 61 Hawks Cay Blvd., Duck Key, Florida Surround your soul in the heart of the Florida Keys. Hawks Cay Resort is 90 miles (145 km) south of Miami and 60 miles (98 km) north of Key West. The Family Pool was the most popular pool on the resort, being located next to the Cantina and the Porto Cayo restaurant. Bill, Tom, Laurie, Dan, Rick, and Heidi all enjoyed playing "Catch Phrase" and drinking tropical drinks at the Cantina on Saturday afternoon before dining at the Waters' Edge restaurant. 
Tom, Laurie, and Tom relax at poolside at the Adult Pool next to the Indies Grille, a casual outdoor and indoor dining atmosphere. Bill said the mango pina coladas were terrific! and once again Tom raved about the Golden Margaritas!! Breakfast often occurred at the Palm Terrace, an open-style circular dining room that featured a wonderful buffet. Laurie and Tom stand in front of our Conch Villa Spa townhome #7035 after a Friday morning of biking around the residential neighborhood next to the resort. 
Captain Dan and Chief Navigator Laurie are seen aboard the USS Hawks Cay after docking alongside the Kiddie Pool at Duck Keys. Soon afterwards, two villainous and treacherous pirates "Mango Colada" Bill and "Golden Margarita" Tom, along with two little pirates-in-training, attempt a daring capture of the gallant ship, firing water cannons toward our hero and heroine. Although soaked to the skin and slightly annoyed, Captain Dan is seen victorious in maintaining command of the sailing vessel.
